This is an early, albumen image by C.E. Scribner in Caldwell, Kansas. The condition is somewhat rough but the subject matter is unique. It is of a young gal with a beaded, Indian necklace around her neck, hanging down. She also has soft, high rise, Indian beaded mocs on her feet. Yet, she is not an Indian. She is NOT identified. She holds a 1873 Winchester carbine but most unusual is that she also holds a large group of what appear to be rabbit skins that she may well have shot and skinned herself. The rabbit skins are the center of attention here. Fascinating!
