A couple of Nay sayers disagree but most major authorities maintain this is the YOUNGEST image of Ute Chief Ouray in existence and may be unique. On the back is identified in contemporary pencil "ULA , Arrow the Peace Walker". Ula was a variation of the name Ouray. On the front in same contemporary pencil writing under the image is "Peace Maker". Peace Maker is the title that Ouray was best know as. The image dates in the 1860s and is by the famous photographer Gurney (and son)., NY. A very rare and valuable CDV.
