The man on the far left in Buckskins is Diamond Dick. His real name was George B. McClellan and he was a Herbal-medicine promoter and showman in the 1880-1900 period. I believe this is about 1889. I know little about this wonderful albumen image except that the Female band was very well known and traveled around the country. It was associated with Diamond Dick for only one year (or season). I believe the band's real name was after the woman who created it. If I find more information, I will add it later. At any rate, it is of a rare subject matter and shows that women took their place early on in the West and the country.
